Install Guide for Windows® XP

This note provides instruction for installing S3 Graphics® CHROME® Display Drivers and associated utilities for the Windows XP operating system.

Exact install steps may vary depending whether your software package contains the setup tool and whether you are doing a first time or update installation.

Instructions assume your driver package is uncompressed and located on a CD or DVD drive mapped to drive D. If installation is from another source, you may need to manually specify the location of your package during the installation process.

Install software only AFTER you have installed the hardware in your system.
Follow the hardware installation instruction provided by your board vendor. Windows XP uses Plug and Play detection to assist in the installation of new hardware. Your new graphics board must be installed before software installation is attempted so that the operating system can detect the presence of the new hardware.

From the following, select and hyperlink to an install method which matches your operating system, whether you are doing a first time or update installation, and whether or not your software package contains the setup tool.
